Our History
Built on three generations of craftsmanship, entrepreneurship, and community commitment, Leon’s Custom Painting transforms spaces with painting, refinishing, and restoration services that elevate every space.
The story began with LJ’s grandfather, Octavius, a true entrepreneur who built several successful businesses and set the standard for integrity, pride in workmanship, and service to the community. His example instilled best practices and an entrepreneurial spirit that would guide future generations.
It was his son, Leon, and later his grandson, Leon Jr., who carried that legacy forward as painters, combining their skill, artistry, and commitment to excellence. Over time, the family’s work expanded from South Central Pennsylvania into communities across Pennsylvania and Maryland. Their projects have ranged from historic museums in Baltimore to commercial spaces in Lancaster, as well as residential homes and family farms across the Mid-Atlantic—each completed with a standard of quality and care rooted in family tradition.
Today, Leon’s Custom Painting is led by the grandson, LJ, who continues to honor the values passed down through generations. Guided by a commitment to craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the belief that every space can be elevated, the company remains dedicated to enhancing the places where people live, work, and gather.
